OnePlus faced a lot of heat for the green line issue many of its smartphone users faced. Although the company had rolled out a lifetime replacement programme on older OnePlus smartphones a while back, now, they have gone a step ahead and announced a lifetime warranty against the green line issue to every OnePlus phone.
Robin Liu, the CEO of OnePlus India, said that OnePlus is “the first brand to offer a lifetime warranty against green line issues for Indian users, showcasing our confidence in our technology and our user-first approach.”

OnePlus has developed a “green line worry-free solution” to address AMOLED display concerns. They are tackling the green line issue by introducing new display manufacturing technologies, which include adding a superior protective layer to the AMOLED screen. The new screens on OnePlus smartphones will feature an enhanced edge bonding layer that uses PVX edge-sealing materials, known for their resistance against weathering and chemicals.
The PVX then acts as a barrier that slows down moisture and oxygen penetration and helps extend the life of the AMOLED screen. OnePlus said this technology “minimises the occurrence of green line issues to the lowest level in the industry, even in India’s extreme heat and humidity, while ensuring stable and high performance.”

Users who encounter green screen issues on OnePlus smartphones can visit authorised service centres and avail a free screen replacement. This policy is applicable to all OnePlus smartphones sold in both online and offline markets, and the service can be availed from any of the authorised service centres in India.
OnePlus says there are no hidden charges to this procedure. The catch, however, is that the service is only available within the part supply period, which is usually five years from the day of launch, and the scheme does not cover devices with damage caused by humans or external factors, which will be analysed by the service centre.
