‘Vivo X200 series underlines brands emphasis on continuous innovation’ | Technology News


Vivo’s new X200 series smartphones launched in India today showcase the brand’s emphasis on continuous evolution and consumer-centric innovation, Geetaj Channana, Head of Corporate Strategy, vivo India, told indianexpress.com.

“It is phenomenal… in 10 years we have grown as a brand, we have grown to a leadership position in the premium segment in India and it is our responsibility to take it forward,” Channana explained, underlining how the company has been setting new benchmarks in terms of smartphones, especially its flagships. Vivo now has a 16% market share in the Rs 30,000 segment of smartphones.

The new ‘made-in-India’ X200 Pro 5G touts many world-class hardware and software capabilities but stands out for its camera, especially its 200MP telephoto capabilities and unique landscape mode. A company spokesperson said consumer feedback from existing X series users was used to identify improvements needed in imaging capabilities.

With an eye on travel enthusiasts, the camera will offer six industry-leading capabilities in the telephoto camera with a 200MP sensor, CIPA 4.5 stabilisation, Zeiss T* coating, Zeiss APO standard, Flourite Grade Glass Lenses, and telephoto portrait capture. On the video side too, vivo is pushing 4k HDR cinematic with Dolby Vision and 120 FPS recording.

Powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, the phone will have a 6000mAh battery despite its slimmer and lighter chassis. The 6.78-inch LTPO 2K display is protected by Armor Glass Protection. The phone runs FunTouch OS 15 based on Android 15. The X200 series brings lasting performance with a slim and lightweight design, offering advanced battery technology for its users. The X200 is equipped with a 5800 mAh battery, while the X200 Pro features an even larger 6000 mAh capacity battery. Both models utilize 3rd-generation silicon anode technology and introduce India’s first semi-solid battery technique.

with Google, Vivo has introduced a range of AI features, including AI Note, AI Assist, AI Transcript, Live Call Translation, and more. The company states that it is working with Google to supercharge creativity and productivity. Features like AI Erase allows users to remove unwanted elements from an image effortlessly.

The Funtouch 15.0 OS combines a fluid interface with a wide array of personalisation options. Additionally, the device ensures equal resource distribution to deliver superior functionality.

“I think it is paving the way for what smartphones should be and how they should be experienced. So I think we are happy to be in such a space,” Channana added. The vivo X200 will be priced at Rs 65,999, while the X200 Pro will be available at Rs 94,999.
