2025’s first Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung will unveil its next set of flagship Android smartphones, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is just a week away. Ahead of the event, the company has teased an updated version of Sketch to Image, a feature that allows users to convert simple sketches into images.
The improved Sketch to Image feature on the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be powered by multimodal generative AI capability. A user can make a rough sketch using the S-Pen (or their fingers) and use voice commands and text input to give context to help the AI understand the requirement and generate the best possible image.
Samsung also provides an example: one can sketch a simple cat, write the text “cat in a spacesuit,” and use the voice command “a cat wearing a cap, flying in space”. The Galaxy AI will combine all these contexts to generate an image just as you imagined.
Samsung is also calling OneUI 7, based on Android 15, its first integrated AI platform, where select devices running on OneUI 7 can understand natural language through images, text, and voice.
At first, Samsung is likely to keep these new AI experiences exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series launching on January 22. In the coming months, these features will make their way to devices like the Galaxy S24 Ultra (review) and the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S25 series is already available for pre-booking in India for a nominal price of Rs 2,000 and will be available for purchase, possibly a week after the Galaxy Unpacked event.
