Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 series, and while the company’s latest smartphones have the same 45W charging speed as their predecessors, several Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra users are reportedly facing issues charging their phones.
According to Android Police citing numerous posts on Reddit and Samsung’s own community forums, some users have reported their smartphones are either charging really slow or not charging at all. The issue appears to impact users attempting to charge their phones with their previous fast-charging cable, as well as those using Samsung’s official 45W charger and the bundled 5A USB-C cable.
Earlier this month, Samsung Italia acknowledged the charging issue in a post on X and recommended that users who are facing the problem try using a 3A cable that comes with the box instead of the 5A USB-C cable. However, it did not share a timeline for when it will be fixed. As for the vanilla Galaxy S25, there are barely any reports regarding the charging problems, and this can be because the phone only supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.
And while Samsung has already rolled out an update for the Galaxy S25 series that mentions improvements to charging, it is still unclear if the issue has been resolved. In case nothing is working for you, try switching to a slower charging brick or resort to wireless charging until the company fixes the problem.
