Samsung may still hold the crown in the foldable smartphone market, but Oppo’s upcoming Find N5 could provide the Chinese brand with a significant advantage, especially when it comes to the thickness of these huge phones.
According to newly released photos by Oppo’s Find series product manager Zhou Yibao, it looks like the Find N5 will be barely thicker than a USB-C port. Scheduled to launch in China sometime next month, Yibao said that the Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest folding flagship phone. Codenamed Haiyan, he went on to say that they could make the phone even thinner but were limited by the thickness of the USB-C port.
When unfolded, the Oppo Find N5 is as thick as two CNY1 coins or four credit cards stacked on top of one another, which roughly translates to 3.7mm. If true, this will be the second foldable phone in the market after the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate triple folding phone whose thickness will be less than 4mm.

While nothing is official at the moment, the Oppo Find N5 is said to have a titanium body and feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset- the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, this may be the silently launched 7-core chipset, which means it will be slightly slower than the octa-core version of the chipset.
The back of the phone is rumoured to have a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor in addition to a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide shooter. It will run on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box and pack a 5,700mAh battery with support for both wired and wireless charging.
In a separate post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Yibao said that the Find N5 will have an IPX9 rating, which means it may be able to withstand high-pressure jets of water and even withstand submersion in water.
Since the OnePlus Open was based on the Oppo Find N3, the company may decide to rebrand the Find N5 and launch it as the OnePlus Open 2 in the global market.
