OnePlus smartphones are known for their impressive battery capacity and fast charging capabilities, and the upcoming OnePlus 13 mini, which is expected to be as compact as the Google Pixel 9, could pack a large 6,000 mAh battery, similar to the OnePlus 13 (review), writes leakster Digital Chat Station in a Weibo post on Monday.
The OnePlus 13 mini is expected to be the brand’s most compact flagship smartphone, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and is speculated to feature a 6.3-inch screen, similar to that of the Pixel 9 (review). To fit a large 6,000 mAh battery into this form factor, OnePlus might use the latest Silicon Carbon anode battery technology, which offers a higher power density compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
For example, the 6.3-inch Pixel 9 comes with a 4,700 mAh battery, while the slightly smaller 6.2-inch Galaxy S25 (review) packs an even smaller 4,000 mAh battery. In comparison to these devices, if the OnePlus 13 mini indeed packs a 6,000 mAh battery, it will be an engineering and material science feat.
This also indicates that the OnePlus 13 mini might not be the thinnest phone around, while other upcoming devices like the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air will compete for that title.
The OnePlus 13 mini is said to be based on the upcoming OPPO Find X8 mini, which is speculated to launch in China next month. It is expected to offer all the features that one would expect from a high-end smartphone, but in a compact form factor, followed by the global launch of the OnePlus 13 mini in global markets in April.
