Nothing today announced that it is rolling out the stable version of Nothing OS 3.0 for the Phone (2) and the Phone (2a). Based on Android 15, the company’s latest Android skin introduces several features and customisation options.
The Nothing OS 3.0 update introduces a redesigned lock screen, which the company is “fully customisable.” It also features some new clock typefaces and widgets, which can also be used on the lock screen to give the device a more personalised look and feel.
Introduced earlier this year as part of the Nothing OS 3.0 beta update, the company is also bundling its new gallery app with the stable update. To give you a quick recap, the Nothing Gallery app features a minimalistic and clean interface with expanded editing tools like filter, markup and suggestions.
The company also plans to add new AI-powered features in the coming days. Compared to Google Photos, Nothing says the new app is 1.4 seconds faster in opening a photo taken from the camera
The stable update also introduced a new Countdown timer widget alongside a new feature called Shared Widgets, a way for Nothing users to share widgets with their family and friends. In the app drawer, Nothing has baked in an AI-powered auto-sort functionality that keeps your most used apps at the top and automatically categorises apps into folders for easy organisation. Apart from performance and visual updates, the update also features redesigned quick settings and an “Enhanced Pop-up view” that makes multitasking easier.
Nothing OS 3.0 is currently rolling out for Phone (2) and Phone (2a) and will be available to everyone throughout the end of the year. However, Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus and CMF Phone 1 users will have to wait until next year.
