Apple is known for making great laptops, smartphones and tablets, but the US-based tech giant has been refraining from entering the foldable space. However, that might soon change as the company is reportedly working on several foldable devices.
According to the known tipster Jukanlosreve (formerly known as TechReve) on X, the tech giant might unveil a foldable iPhone sometime next year, which may be followed by a foldable iPad or MacBook in 2027. The tipster, who has a history of accurate leaks, attributes details about the foldable iPhone to a company named ‘zwz’, which could refer to the Chinese company ZWZ Bearings, known for making ball bearings.
As it turns out, Apple is focusing on a Galaxy Z Fold 6-like book-style foldable iPhone with a “large folding mechanism on the left rear side.” When unfolded, the phone is said to be 4.6mm thick and measures 9.2 when you fold it in half.

The leak also claims that the display will be developed by Samsung. As for the frame, Apple seems to be exploring various materials like titanium alloy, stainless steel and carbon fibre. The upcoming foldable phone is said to use Apple’s design solution, which will cost somewhere around $110, with parts sourced by Amphenol and Taiwan’s Xinyiheng.
The front of the foldable iPhone is rumoured to feature a camera lens with “ultra-thin technology” while the rear primary and ultrawide sensor might use a “hybrid glass-plastic structure.” For battery, Apple might consider using two stainless steel-cased batteries” with a capacity of 5,000mAh. The foldable iPhone is said to make an appearance sometime in September next year, but since nothing is official at the moment, we suggest you to take this information with a huge grain of salt.
