Formovie, a collaboration between Apptronics Corporation and Xiaomi Technology recently launched the XMING Episode One, a projector powered by Google TV.
Distributed by Aytexcel Pvt Ltd in India, the XMING Episode One is the most affordable projector in Formovie’s lineup. The company says the device comes with features like Auto keystone correction, Intelligent obstacle avoidance, Dolby Audio support and offers a lag free user interface.
For those wondering, the Auto Keystone Correction feature “identifies the shape of the image and adjusts it in real time to fix any distortion”, which negates the need for manual adjustment. As the name suggests, the Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance feature automatically adjusts the projector to navigate around obstacles using a combination of sensors and advanced algorithms.

The XMING Episode One has a FullHD resolution with the screen having 150 CVAI lumens brightness, which is achieved using various light sources like LEDs and lasers. The company says the projection range is from 40 inches to 120 inches and comes with Netflix and Google pre-installed.
Powered by an unspecified chip, the projector comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, weighs just 1.2kg and measures just 6.9 x 4.8 x 5.6 inches, making it a good device for those who want to watch movies on the go.
On the connectivity side of things, the projector features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth and even has DMI 2.1, which helps reduce latency and enables “smooth streaming of movies and browsing, according to ForMovie.
Similar to most smart TVs, the device comes with Google Assistant voice commands and access to a bunch of streaming services. The XMING Episode One is available for Rs 29,999 and can be purchased from Formovie India website or Amazon India.
