It looks like 2025 will be the year of ultra-slim flagship smartphones, with Samsung leading the charge through its upcoming Galaxy S25 Slim. According to leaked renders published by OnLeaks and Smartprix, the device will feature an impressively thin 6.4mm body, setting a new benchmark for slim smartphones. However, it won’t be part of the Galaxy S25 series launching on January 22 at Galaxy Unpacked. Instead, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to debut in May 2025, just months ahead of the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Air.
So… While everyone’s focusing on devices I revealed 5 months ago, today, I’m once again well ahead of the hype by finally bringing you the very 1st look at the #GalaxyS25Slim (360° video + gorgeous 5K renders + dimensions)!😏

The leaked 3D renders suggest that while the Galaxy S25 Slim will be 6.4mm thick, its camera bump will extend to 8.3mm. This makes it much thinner than its predecessors—the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23, both of which measured 7.6mm in thickness. Despite its ultra-slim profile, it still won’t surpass Samsung’s thinnest smartphone to date, the Galaxy A8 (2015), which measured an astonishing 4.9mm.
For reference, Apple’s 13-inch iPad Pro M4, at 5.1mm, remains the gold standard for thin devices. However, the Galaxy S25 Slim will still be thinner than the iPhone 16, which measures 6.9mm and faced durability concerns with the infamous “bendgate”.
Despite its ultra-thin design, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to deliver flagship-level performance. Leaks suggest it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and sport a triple-camera setup, including a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP zoom lens. It may also become the first smartphone to feature Samsung’s LoP (All Lenses on Prism) design for the telephoto camera, an innovation that reduces the thickness of the camera module.
It will be interesting to see if Samsung adopts new technologies, such as silicon-carbon batteries, to include a larger-capacity cell for stellar battery life, or opts for a smaller-sized battery paired with software optimisation to maximize efficiency. Given its slimness, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to carry a premium price tag, likely positioned between the Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
