Apple’s first mixed reality headset – the Vision Pro may not be a commercial success, but it looks like that hasn’t stopped the tech giant from bringing new features to its $3,300 product.
The Cupertino based tech giant yesterday started seeding the Vision OS 2.4 beta, which brings support for Apple Intelligence including Writing Tools for generating, proofreading and summarising text, Genmoji for making custom characters, and Image Playground for generating images from scratch.
However, it only supports US English, but Apple says support for more languages will be added soon. The VisionOS 2.4 update for Vision Pro also introduces new apps and features like Spatial Gallery – a new app which Apple says “features a curated collection of spatial photos, videos and panoramas from artists, filmmakers, photographers and more.”
The tech giant also brought some improvements to Guest User, making it easier for users to share apps and experiences with their friends and family and Natural language search in Photos.
Later this year in April, Apple says Vision Pro users will be able to queue app downloads and get a new Apple Vision Pro app for the iPhone which will let users store details about the headset and prescription lens inserts. However, there is still no word about AI-powered Siri or Visual Intelligence, which allows users to invoke AI to ask them about the world around them.
